7/15/17 – Activities at StellaLou & Evening Reception at Street Road
“Homestead” necessitates a commitment to location. Our place is a small scale, family-operated farm in Cochranville, PA. We are consumers and we are producers in this place that we inhabit. Our presence has an impact on the land we occupy and the community around it. We wish for that impact to be positive as we work to make our homestead more economically and ecologically resilient. Permaculture is the tool that guides and supports our intention. Sharing stories and photographs is a way to observe, explore, and celebrate the activities and relationships we experience at StellaLou. This is a journey.
- StellaLou Farm
With this exhibition Street Road Artists Space features the work of our neighbors at StellaLou Farm, established here in southern Chester County, PA after running an earlier permaculture project in the Philadelphia inner suburb of Elkins Park. This exhibition is a chance to celebrate their work, to consider permaculture practices in relation to art and aesthetics, and to help foster a wider conversation around permaculture and homesteading amongst Street Road’s community and in our region generally. From July through mid-September, we invite you to visit the exhibition, to learn about permaculture and the work to establish StellaLou, and also to visit StellaLou itself on 7/15 for a day of talks and activites hosted by the School of Living. Join us later in the summer for kids day and a permablitz.
