WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP?
As a resource that is always free to the community we are grateful if you wish to volunteer your time as one of our librarians, to donate books, or to offer your experience and talent to host a class or activity of your choice.
We have been keeping a photo record of the building of the library, from the first thought of "We should..." on Friday December 22nd, 2017, through to today.
Street Road has established the Little Free Library as a community resource where people gather to explore, interact and imagine. As well as shelves packed with books we will be offering children’s book readings, art classes and book groups and there will be dedicated shelves curated by community members – we welcome ideas for classes and activities so please let us know what is of importance to you. The wifi will be free and we hope to find space for a free-to-all computer. The library will initially be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. People can drop by and grab a book or pull up one of the armchairs and spend a comfortable afternoon reading and chatting – there will also be a large desk that can be used for studying and if we can be of help so much the better.
Our values of cooperation and inspiration and a very good cup of coffee sit at the heart of the Little Free Library and the best part is that it’s free to everyone.
LITTLE, BUT BIGGER
Because we are bigger than other little free libraries (littlefreelibrary.org) we will have free books, a lending section and a permanent collection, all visible here on the Libib app, so we’re sure to have the book for you.
