This screen shot shows us Skyping with Kaori Homma last week to plan for this year's variation on her Homma Meridian @ Street Road.
This line stretching across the Street Road Site, is Homma's re-conception and re-locating of the Greenwich Meridian (so called 'zero degrees longitude'), from London to Cochranville.
These photos show it two summers ago when we let it grow as long grass.
This summer, Kaori collaborates with another artist who has had long involvement at Street Road, Adrian Barron, and the line will be cut down to the earth, and local seeds will be allowed to germinate freely.
The line gets cut this week and we'll have a time lapse camera shooting photos all summer. Watch this space.
We arrived at Street Road this morning to find this fellow poking out of the ground in our flowerbed. Part III of Adrian Barron's ongoing changing garden installation "Heterotopia West", this sprog is part of his rhizomatic installation for 2014 - consisting of Garlic and Violets. More photos and info here.
It's a heroic feat to come up this early on a plot of ground that has been under two feet of snow until just a few days ago, so Bravo, little guy.
Regular posts from Street Road - check for updates on our shows, our friendly but slightly menacing groundhogs, bees from nearby Stella Lou Farm, and our growing collection of river rocks altered by the artistically inclined from all over the world.
